Pondering Our Place in the Universe II by Dr. Michael Wong

We are embarking on a golden age of astrobiology, but to truly appreciate the diversity of life in the universe, we may have to think outside Earth's box. What actually is life, in its most general sense? How can we distinguish it from nonlife? What drives biological complexification and evolution? Where are all the extraterrestrial civilizations, and what is the fate of our own? In this talk, we'll explore all of these burning questions and how information is at the heart of them all.

About Dr Michael Wong

Michael L. Wong is a NASA Sagan Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Scienceʼs Earth & Planets Laboratory studying planetary atmospheres, habitability, biosignatures, and the emergence of life.
